Product Highlights

The snake plant is popular because it is tough and tidy. Its thick, upright leaves store water, so it forgives missed waterings and copes well in a range of indoor light. The bold patterned leaves give a clean, modern look in any room. The Epsom salt in this combo is magnesium sulfate, which supplies magnesium and sulfur, two nutrients plants use to make chlorophyll and grow green, healthy leaves. It is useful for many garden and houseplants, including flowering and leafy plants, when used in small, diluted amounts. Together, the plant and the supplement make a complete starter set that is simple to use and nice to gift for housewarmings, birthdays, festivals and office desks.

How to Care for the Snake Plant

• Light: Bright indirect light is best, but it also copes with low light. Keep away from harsh afternoon sun
• Water: Water only when the soil is fully dry, about every 2 to 3 weeks, less in winter. Never let water stand in the pot
• Soil: Fast-draining cactus or succulent mix
• Feeding: Light feeding in the growing season is enough
• Pet note: Snake plant is mildly toxic to cats and dogs if chewed, so keep it out of their reach

How to Use the Epsom Salt

• Soil drench: Dissolve 1 teaspoon of Epsom salt in 1 litre of water and water the soil once every 4 to 6 weeks during the growing season
• Leaf spray (for leafy plants): Dissolve 1 teaspoon in 1 litre of water and spray in the early morning or evening, not in strong sun
• Always dissolve fully in water. Do not pour dry crystals on leaves or roots
• Use small amounts. Too much can build up salts in the soil and harm plants
• Do not use on a snake plant more often than directed. Succulents need very little feeding
• For garden use only. Not for eating. Keep out of reach of children and pets
