How to Sow Seeds

  • Take a large-size pot, fill it with potting mix and sow 2-3 watermelon seeds in it.
  • You can also sow the seeds directly in the ground. Make sure there is a gap of 1-3 feet between the seeds to allow space for growth.

Seed Care

  • Water the seeds regularly, so the soil doesn’t feel dry on touch

How to Care for Watermelons

Sunlight: Watermelons need an ample amount of sunlight, so place the pots in a location that receives 4-5 hours of good sunlight.

Watering: Watermelons are water-loving plants, so water them regularly and keep the soil moist.

Soil: Sandy loam soil rich in organic matter is best for growing watermelons.

Fertilizer: You can use balance liquid fertilizer once every two months. Adding cow dung manure is also beneficial for watermelons.

Pests and Diseases: Look for early signs of bacterial or fungal infections and spray the appropriate pesticide.

Harvesting: The first harvest of watermelon will come 60-90 days after sowing the seeds. You can identify a ripe watermelon by its dry tendrils and yellow-color on the bottom.

These seeds are good quality seed I think because I have germination of almost all the seeds though they are very small right now to be transfer to the garden. I’m gonna wait for few more days to grow them little taller.
